Product Manager

As Springbox is more frequently engaging in product development–based relationships with our digital partners, we are looking for an experienced product owner who can act as the key internal project stakeholder, managing the product backlog and guiding the team to maximize the value of the product and their work output.

A product manager must have an understanding not only of the Waterfall and Agile frameworks and the nature of their role within it, but also be able to quickly dive into understanding multiple clients’ users, systems, marketplace, competition, and trends of a given development space. The product manager is the proxy for the client and is thus accountable for establishing and managing requirements and making sure the product team knows exactly what must be done and in what order.

 

What we’re looking for in a candidate:

  • Experience with JIRA, Basecamp, Google Documents, and other office software
  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Minimum 3-6 years of agency experience
  • Agency experience a big plus
  • Confidence, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  • Business savvy
  • Analytical thinking
  • Technical understanding of current web and mobile best practices
  • Strong and transparent client and team management
  • Effective prioritization and decision-making with good judgement
  • Commitment to a team and vision
  • Calm and focused under pressure
  • Positive, collaborative, and strong client and team management skills
  • Experience working in an Agile and Waterfall frameworks
  • Familiarity with SDLC

 

Product Manager responsibilities:

  • Work with clients to understand in full their product vision and goals from MVP through multiple release cycles and potentially sunsetting or replacing a product long term
  • Learn and analyze the client’s business, market, systems, and users
  • Create estimates with high level tasks and milestones, crafting detailed and actionable Scopes of Work, Change Orders, and Proposals
  • Communicate and document the product requirements including user stories, acceptance criteria, functional or UX specifications, release notes, and training materials
  • Develop and adapt the product vision throughout the project as needed and communicate/document changes to product team
  • Prioritize the backlog and provide a delivery plan with regular goals
  • Approve work items as “Done”
  • Maintain commitment and availability to the team to clarify requirements and make decisions as needed
  • Internal and external stakeholder reporting (velocity, burn, release reporting)
  • Give product team feedback and help them to improve their process
