This role requires being based in our Austin office.

We're Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • Mentored designers
  • Taken a product from conception all the way through to release
  • Used heuristics and design principles to help refine design decisions and prioritize work
  • Led design & research team(s) through a product lifecycle
  • Up to speed on application frameworks to work collaboratively with developers
  • Demonstrated repeated use of research methods through a product lifecycle to both get to the right design and get the design right
  • Knows when to create the right documentation for the task at hand, whether it’s a quick sketch on a whiteboard, an annotated wireframe that a developer can run with, or a high-fidelity mockup
  • Strong understanding of research methodologies that results in impactful changes
  • Familiarity with Agile design and development methodology
  • Strong project and people management skills. Must be able to function as a project leader as well as an individual contributor
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as AdobeCC, Sketch, InVision, and/or Framer, with an ability and openness to come up to speed with new emerging technologies quickly
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to receive and incorporate critique from peers as well as stakeholders, as well as provide meaningful critique

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead delivery of one or more products from concept-to-launch
  • Running collaborative sessions to facilitate creativity, problem framing, and alignment of strategic direction
  • Contributing to high-level strategy in collaboration with our executive, product, and technology teams
  • Discovering insights through continuous customer, user, and stakeholder engagement
  • Testing your designs with users. Iterating on your designs when they don't work
  • Effectively synthesize and communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and through execution
  • Rapidly prototyping interactions and experiences
  • Collaborating with a small team of designers and developers to manage, curate, and expand the design system
  • Collaborate with the product owner to prioritize a product backlog for all assigned projects based on business value
  • Actively participate in agile gatherings (stand-ups, grooming, reviews, and retrospectives)
  • Work closely with strategy and design technology teams to ensure that design requirements are achieved
  • Manage the design process, drive decisions, track issues, and assist in estimating resource needs and schedules   

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Designer
  • BA/BS Degree in Design or Human Computer Interaction or a related field
  • Design portfolio of shipped Enterprise/Consumer products
  • Portfolio demonstrating work that incorporates design thinking (or other similar) methodologies where people are the center of the solution
  • Ability to work in a highly-fluid fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong communication skills
